The CIVIVI Outlaw Muk (C24079-1) is one of the most interesting and useful EDC knives I’ve carried lately. It takes the classic Nessmuk blade shape — known for its excellent slicing and skinning performance — and packs it into a compact, everyday-friendly folder.
This knife features a 3.47″ 14C28N stainless steel blade with a tall flat grind that slices through paper, rope, cardboard, and food like butter. The black stonewashed finish looks great and hides wear well. Deployment is smooth and fast thanks to the flipper tab and caged ceramic ball bearings, and the button lock is rock-solid and easy to operate with one hand.

At just 3.74 oz, it disappears in the pocket, yet the ergonomic black G10 handle feels substantial and grippy in hand. The reversible deep-carry pocket clip keeps it low and secure, and the overall build quality is excellent — typical of CIVIVI’s great value.

Whether you’re looking for a capable everyday cutter, a camp/skinning knife, or just something a little different from the usual drop-point, the Outlaw Muk delivers. It punches way above its price point and has quickly become one of my favorite knives under $70.

Strongly recommended if you want something unique that actually performs.
