This spring-assisted knife (model around 6880/6855 variants) flips open fast with a satisfying snick thanks to the OutBurst assisted mechanism and IKBS ball bearings—super smooth deployment without feeling gimmicky.
The 3.4–3.5″ drop-point blade (usually in 8Cr13MoV or similar high-carbon stainless) arrives razor sharp out of the box and handles daily tasks like opening boxes, cutting rope, or food prep without drama. I opted for the Veff serrations version, and those wavy edges chew through tough materials like straps or fibrous stuff way better than plain edges in my experience. The liner lock feels secure, and the G10 handle scales give a comfy, no-slip grip even when things get sweaty or dirty.
At just over 3.5 oz and about 7.6″ open (4.25″ closed), it rides light in the pocket with a sturdy tip-down clip. The safety feature is a nice touch too—prevents accidental opens, which is great for peace of mind.
Is it a premium $150+ knife? No, but for the price (usually $30–60 range), it’s a heavy-duty workhorse from CRKT with good fit/finish and easy sharpening. Edge retention is decent for the steel, though it needs touching up after heavy use.
