If you’re looking for a premium everyday carry folder that can handle serious outdoor work, the Benchmade Freek is one of the best in its class.
This American-made knife features a 3.6-inch drop-point blade in premium steel (CPM-S90V on the carbon fiber model or CPM-M4 on the G10 version), which delivers outstanding edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The high flat grind makes it an absolute slicer for everything from opening boxes and food prep to processing kindling or field dressing. The blade deploys smoothly on Benchmade’s rock-solid AXIS lock, which is one of the strongest and most reliable locking mechanisms available.
The handle feels fantastic in hand — whether you get the lightweight carbon fiber version or the textured G10 model with the red accent layer, it offers excellent grip even when wet or wearing gloves. At just over 4 oz and 8.46″ open, it’s large enough to feel like a real tool but still comfortable for all-day pocket carry. The reversible tip-up pocket clip is strong and low-profile.
