The POC Octal MIPS (CPSC) is one of the most distinctive and well-ventilated road helmets I’ve used. With its unique octagonal-inspired shape and massive 21 oversized vents, this thing flows air like crazy — perfect for hot Texas summer rides or long climbs where staying cool is everything.
At around 250-280g depending on size, it’s impressively lightweight yet feels substantial thanks to the fully wrapped unibody shell and optimized EPS foam. The addition of MIPS technology gives me extra confidence on fast group rides or sketchy descents, helping reduce rotational forces in a crash without adding much weight. The fit is excellent: the lightweight adjustment system and soft Coolbest padding make it comfortable for hours, and the eyewear docking on the front is a nice touch.
It looks premium and stands out on the road (in a good way), with great rear reflectivity for visibility.
